Housing Choice Voucher - Shelter Plus Care (Homeless Program)

MHA utilizes the Shelter Plus Care (S+C program) Voucher Program. The Shelter Plus Care program provides rental assistance to homeless individuals/families with disabilities. Disabilities primarily include mental illness, chronic problems with alcohol and/or drugs, and HIV/AIDS or related diseases. There is a waiting list for this program, and vouchers are limited. You will be notified when your name comes to the top of the waiting list. PLEASE keep us informed of any address change. To qualify for the S+C program, you must be homeless. You must also be receiving continuing care for your disability and that agency must verify your continuing care.

In order to accept your application for this program, the agency that is providing your support and the agency that can verify your homeless status must complete their part of your application.. The Murfreesboro Housing Authority must conduct a credit and criminal background check to determine eligibility for you and all family members over 18 years of age who reside with you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call April Hiles of the Murfreesboro Housing Authority at (615) 225-9473.
